    Vichia Vanghele Fatsy, age 94, of Fairfield, wife of the late Christ E. Fatsy, entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 12, 2007 in the Jewish Home for the Elderly.

    Born and raised in Korce, Albania, Mrs. Fatsy emigrated to Woonsocket, RI in 1935 and then to Bridgeport in 1942 where she lived until moving to Fairfield nearly 30 years ago.

    She had worked for the Aerosol Techniques Co. of Bridgeport prior to her retirement.

    Vichia was a member of St. Dimitrie Romanian Orthodox Church for most of her life, she was a past president of the Church Ladies Auxiliary, she belonged to the St. Dimitrie Retirees, the Society Farsarotul, the Women’s Council of Eastern Orthodox Christian Churches and was a dedicated and tireless volunteer for the St. Dimitrie Festivals.

    Vichia enjoyed baking, crochetting and knitting and loved sharing her afghans, breads and renouned pitas with her family and friends.

    Survivors include her sons, George C. Fatsy and his wife Audrey of Trumbull and Spiro ( Pete ) Fatsy of Fairfield, Muma will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Marianne Ocrain and her husband Ovidiu ( Vito ), Kristin Fatsy, Luke Fatsy and his Fiancee’ Megan Booth and Derek Fatsy and his wife Monica and great grandchildren Audriana and Christopher Ocrain as well as several nieces, nephews and Godchildren.

    She was pre-deceased by her brother, Vangel Vanghele and sister, Olimbia V. Fatse. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Park Ave., Bridgeport ( due to the construction of St. Dimitrie Church in Easton ). Burial to follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home 1209 Post Rd., Fairfield Center. Trisagon service at 7:30 pm.
