    Mary Ann Marames Silage, 96, of Wallingford, PA, passed away Monday, Oct. 5, 2020, at the Residences at Chestnut Ridge in Wallingford. She was predeceased by her parents, Efthime and Anna Dhimareli Marames; husband, Alex K. Silage; brothers and sister-in-law, Gregory and Stella Marames and Christopher Marames; a nephew, William Marames; her beloved dog, Terri. Surviving is her son, Dennis and wife, Kathleen Silage of Newtown Square, PA; daughter, Victoria and husband, Frank Vavricka of Naples, FL; grandchildren, Marisa and husband, Eric Miller of Downingtown, PA; Matthew and wife, Wendy Silage, Royersford, PA.; Michael and wife, Bridget Vavricka of Sugar Land, TX, and Laura and wife, Alison Vavricka of Southport, CT; great-grandchildren, Ryan Erhardt, Alex James Silage, Gabrille Silage, Ava Rose Vavricka and Mila Iris Vavricka; three nieces and one nephew, Kristine and Marianne Marames, as well as Daria Conklin and Damien Salady.

    Born in Astoria, NY, Mary attended Mabel D. Bacon Vocational School for Girls in Manhattan. She meet her sweetheart, Alex in Manhattan in 1942, they were married in 1943, and moved to Trenton, NJ, in 1945.

    Mary was an entrepreneur, owning her own millinery business until 1971. After she left her business to work for NL Industries as an accounts receivable clerk for 15 years until her retirement. She was an active executive board member for the area P.T.A, member of the Elks Lodge 2085, Ladies Auxiliary in Bordentown, as well as a volunteer receptionist for 15 years at St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton.

    She was very dedicated to her church, St. Basil’s Romanian Byzantine Catholic Church, being an Altar Rosary Society member for 25 years and president for five.

    She enjoyed visiting her children and spending quality time with her grand- and great-grand children. She will be sorely missed by her loving family and friends.

    A blessing will be conducted on Thursday afternoon, Oct. 8 at Winowicz Funeral Home, corner of 308 Adeline and Beatty Streets in South Trenton at 2 p.m. with Rev. Msgr. George David pastor, St. Basil’s Romanian Byzantine Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be in St. Basil’s Parish Cemetery, Hamilton Township. Calling hour will be from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. The family requests memorial donations in Mary’s memory, in lieu of flowers to be made to: St. Basil’s Church, 238 Adeline St., Trenton, NJ 08611.
