Juliette Lizette Uscatu, or as most of us know her as, Lizetta, passed away unexpectedly on February 13, 2016.

Born to Everdicchia Babu-Uscatu and Vasile Uscatu, Julie came to the United Sates from Romania, with her sister Stella, during the 1940s—to escape the ravages of World War ll.

Julie was a lover of travelling, classical music and the arts. She spent a lot of time at most of New York’s renowned cultural institutes, like Lincoln Center and the Met, enjoying the symphony, ballet and many art galleries and Broadway shows. Julie was also a great lover of nature, spending time in the mountains of upstate New York, as well as the countryside of her native Romania. She was also dedicated to her Romanian heritage and had close ties to the Orthodox Church and community, both in New York and Connecticut.

She attended Woodrow Wilson School, Central Commercial High School and Teachers College in New York City. This helped to develop her skills to work as an executive administrative assistant for some of the most prominent advertising and public relation firms in New York, for more than three decades.

Julie is survived by her son Bill, her two grand children; Alexandra Simone and Evan Phillip; and her daughter-in-law Diva. She also leaves behind countless loving cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 18 from 4-8 PM at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home in Riverdale, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday February 19, 2016 at 11 am at St. Dimitrie Romanian Orthodox Church, 504 Sport Hill Road, Easton CT. Interment at Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport CT.
