  Gheorghe Geambazi

  Gheorghe Geambazi, age 65, of Bridgeport, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023.

  Born in Calarasi, Romania, son of the late Andrei and Viorica Batu Geambazi, Gheorghe emigrated to the United States in 1985 and settled in Bridgeport. He had worked as a machine operator in the optics industry.

  Mr. Geambazi is survived by his brother, Ionel Geambazi of Bridgeport, a sister Jennie Babu and her husband Michael of Fairfield as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins here and in Romania.

  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 9, at 12 noon at St. Dimitrie Orthodox Church, 504 Sport Hill Rd., Easton with the Rev. Fr. George M. Coca officiating, burial to follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Boston Ave., Bridgeport. Friends may call on Wednesday at the Church from 11am until the time of services.

  In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Dimitrie Orthodox Church.
