    • 1 lb. top round beef, cut in 1 1/2 inch cubes
    • 1 stick of butter
    • 1/2 cup flour
    • 1/2 cup red wine
    • 1/4 tsp. paprika
    • 1 cup V-8 juice
    • salt and pepper
    • dash garlic powder
    • 2 cups water


    1. Coat meat with paprika, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Brown meat in butter, then remove meat and place in a saucepan. Pour 1/2 cup wine over beef. Put aside.

    2. Add 1/2 cup flour to meat juices and brown in a frying pan over medium heat. Add V-8 juice and 2 cups of water.

    3. Simmer, covered, stirring occasionally so sauce will not stick to bottom of pan. Simmer until meat is tender, approximately 2 hours, continuing to stir occasionally.
