    Angelina Costa Balamaci, age 86, of Fairfield, wife of the late Epaminondas ( Pete ) Balamaci, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 12, 2013.

    She was a loving mother and a special grandma. Prior to raising a family, she had a career in dance as a Roxiette of the Roxy Theater of New York and had also taught dance to children. In her later years, she was able to continue her love of dancing as a member of a local group, the Black Rock Tappettes.

    Survivors also include a nephew, and nieces. Angelina was predeceased by her brothers Dimitrie ( James ) Costa and John Costa, a sister Xanthippe ( Sandy ) Costa and a nephew John Balamaci.

    The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Alzheimer’ Resource Center for all of their wonderful care and support. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:30am DIRECTLY at St. Dimitrie Romanian Orthodox Church, 504 Sport hill Rd., Easton with burial to follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport. Calling hours will be held on Thursday ( today ) from 4-8pm in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd.,Fairfield Center. The Trisagion Service will be held at 6:30 pm.
