  Dorothea Pittu Gartsu

  Dorothea Pittu Gartsu, age 80, of Southport, beloved wife of George Gartsu, died on Thursday, June 8, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer.

  Born in Bridgeport, Mrs. Gartsu had lived in Milford before moving to Southport more than 50 years ago.

  In addition to George, Dorothea’s devoted husband of 59 years, survivors include her sons, Todd Gartsu and his wife, Kathy, of Maine and Greg Gartsu and his wife, Gwyn, of Trumbull; a daughter, Lisa Williams and her husband, Keith, of Madison; and grandchildren, Kathryn, Sarah, Amy, Nick, Scott and John. She was predeceased by her sister, Linda; and brothers, Mike, Ted and Lou Pittu.

  A memorial service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield Center.
