Christine Fatsy
Christine Bici Fatsy, 75, of Fairfield, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 30, 2022.
Born in Bronx, NY, daughter to the late Modi and Edith Bici, Christine had been a Fairfield Town resident for 46 years.
She was a Quality Control Inspector for Hubbell Inc. until her retirement. In her youth she was an athlete, a standout track sprinter while growing up in the Bronx. The athlete and competitor she was, she taught herself golf in her 40s, logging a low round of 83. Christine also excelled at baseball and played catch with her two sons, even coached their little league practices and games on occasion. She was an avid bowler participating in many leagues throughout the years.
Ever the intellectual, she was a voracious reader, possessing the uncanny ability to read an entire book in one day. The desire to challenge herself saw her learn to play chess, becoming a formidable chess player. Christine was an accomplished quilter, a pastime she shared with her beloved sister Fevronia. Her artistic talents also extended into painting and sketching for personal enjoyment and creativity. She also had a passion for photography spending countless hours photographing natural landscapes and wildlife. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family lighting up the room with her beautiful smile, compassion, and peaceful demeaner. Her most precious time was spent with her beloved grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Lucas Fatsy, his wife Elizabeth, and their daughter, Madeline, of Seymour, Derek Fatsy, his wife, Monica, and their son, Christian, of Shelton; sister, Fevronia Fatse, and husband, George, of Easton; nephew, John Fatse, and his wife, Jayne, of Westport; niece, Donna Fatse Benedetto, and her husband, John of Easton; brother, Andrew Bici, and wife, Aruna, of California; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and her former spouse, Spiro (Pete) Fatsy.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2022 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center with a prayer service at 5:30 p.m. by Rev.
