I would like to thank Helen Winnifrith for sharing her extraordinary and eye opening visit to Albania in the last Newsletter. I respected her candor, compassion and humor — who could forget that chicken in Voskopojë — and was deeply moved by her various encounters with our community there.

The enclosed donation is in appreciation for the latest issue of your Newsletter. Simply excellent. I will send it to my sister in Los Angeles. She sent me the poem by my late uncle Peter P. Asteriou. She was kind enough to correspond with him. From my uncle Pete, through my sister, I learned my family stemmed from Moschopoli — not until my late fifties. Nice to know more about one’s background.
