Thomas BALAMACI
Thomas Balamaci, age 90, of Fairfield, beloved husband of Betty Cashavelly Balamaci, died on March 1, 2009 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center with his family by his side.
Born in Bridgeport to the late John and Athena Muzea Balamaci, he was a Fairfield Town resident for more than 50 years.
Mr. Balamaci was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He was a retired General Manager of Manufacturing of the Kanthal Corporation in Bethel, Mr. Balamaci was a lifelong member of St. Dimitrie Romanian Orthodox Church. Tom will be lovingly remembered as a very kind and compassionate man and will be greatly missed.
In addition to his devoted wife, Betty, he is survived by his daughter, Barbara Balamaci of Fairfield; a brother, Epaminondas Balamaci of Fairfield; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. He was predeceased by his son, John and brother, George Balamaci. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. DIRECTLY at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 4070 Park Ave., Bridgeport (due to the construction of St. Dimitrie Church of Easton) with burial to follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd., Fairfield Center, with the Trisagion service at 5 pm.
