Pondu Bicki
ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – Pondu Bicki, 77, of 67 Mayfield Circle, retired owner of a market and grille, formerly of North Grosvenorsdale, Conn., died Saturday in a Florida care center after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 53 years, Virginia (Talabac) Bicki; a son, Kenneth A. Bicki of Charlotte, N.C.; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was born in Woonsocket, R.I., son of Vasili and Sofia (Spau) Bicki, and lived 30 years in North Grosvenorsdale before moving to Florida in 1972. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving as a sergeant.
Mr. Bicki owned and operated Talabac Market and Arrow Grille, both in North Grosvenordale, for 30 years, retiring in 1972.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at Egidio DiPardo & Sons Funeral Home, 75 Harris Ave., Woonsocket, with a service at noon in St. John the Baptist Romanian Orthodox Church, Elbow Street, Woonsocket. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home.
