Flora (Belu) (Shola) Marcello
MARCELLO, FLORA (BELU) (SHOLA), 92, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2010 at Brentwood and was formerly from Red Cedar Drive of Cranston. She was the beloved wife of the late Luco M. Marcello.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter to the late George L. and Alexa P. (Becea) Belu. She was also step-daughter of the late Gregorie Shola.
Mrs. Marcello graduated from Central High School in 1936. She was a member of St. David’s Church and the Red Hat Society at the Village at Waterman Lake. She loved to read, knit and do decorative painting and was active with church bazaars and taught knitting with the churchs womans group at the RI training school for girls.
She is survived by her two children Barbara Stone of West Warwick and Gregory Marcello of East Greenwich, three siblings: Thomas Shola of West Warwick, Elizabeth Hadfield of Willow Street, PA and Helen Wiegand of Reston, VA, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and sister of the late James Shola, John Shola and Dorothy Lupu.
A Memorial Service will take place at St. David’s on the Hill., 200 Meshanticut Valley Parkway, Cranston on Wednesday, June 2nd at 10:00 AM followed with interment at the RI Veterans Cemetery in Exeter.
