    Elizabeth Kressu Lambro, age 88 previously of Bridgeport, wife of the late Thomas E. Lambro, Sr., entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center with her family by her side.

    Born in Bridgeport, Mrs. Lambro was a lifelong city resident before moving to Trumbull five years ago. She worked for the Bryant Electric Company for many years until her retirement.

    Liz was a lifelong member of the St. Dimitrie Romanian Orthodox Church where she belonged to the Church Ladies’ Auxiliary, the St. Dimitrie Retirees, as well as the Greater Bridgeport Women’s Council of Eastern Orthodox Churches.

    Liz was completely dedicated to her family and will be fondly remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, sister-in-law, and friend, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

    Survivors include her children, Thomas E. Lambro, Jr., and his wife, Diane of Bethlehem, Cheryl Themel and her husband, Peter of Newtown, Linda L. Rich and Robert C. Lambro, both of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; brothers, Paul Kressu of Bridgeport and Charles Kressu and his wife, Barbara of Shelton; sisters, Cleopatra Rinko and her husband, George and Cornelia Talabac, all of Florida; grandchildren, Christopher Lambro and his wife, Alexandra, Jennifer Themel, Stacey Hirst and her husband, Rick, Erik Lambro, Allyson Themel and her fiancé, David Hirst, Anthony T. Rich, Jr., Natasha Phillips and her husband, Adam, Matthew Lambro and his wife, Jana, Brittaney and Mackenzie Lambro; and great-grand-children Emma, Peter, Summer, Elijah, and Ivory. She leaves behind her sisters-in-law, Elizabeth and Andronica Kressu; as well as several nieces and nephews.

    In addition to Thomas, her husband of 66 years, Elizabeth was predeceased by her brothers, Vasil and George Kressu; her sister, Alice Janello; and son-in-law, Anthony T. Rich, Sr.

    Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. DIRECTLY at St. Dimitrie Church, 504 Sport Hill Rd., Easton, with burial to follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd., Fairfield Center, with the Trisagion Service at 6 p.m.
