Eftimia (Emi) Bargiuma Sideri
Eftimia (Emi) Bargiuma Sideri, of Bridgeport, CT, the wife of the late Ioan (Nuli) Sideri, passed away at Cambridge Health & Rehabilitation Center Fairfield, CT on March 13, 2021.
She was born in Turia-Kranea, Greece, and was the daughter of the late Ioan and Ioana Mihadas Bargiuma. She attended school in Greece and Romania and was a teacher in Bucharest. Eftimia, and her husband, Ioan (Nuli), came to United States in 1980 to reunite with her family and settled in Bridgeport, CT.
Survivors include her sister, Caterina Colimitra, and husband, Andrei, of Bridgeport, CT; her niece, Sophia Belade, and husband, Mark, of Shelton, CT; and several nieces and nephews here and in Greece. She is predeceased by her brothers, Constantin (Costache) and Christo Bargiuma; sisters, Mariana (Marioara) Ghitsa and Stamatia (Stamulica) Hatzis; brothers-in-law, George Ghitsa and Hristo Hatzis; and nephew, Christopher Ghitsa.
She was a member of St. Dimitrie Romanian Orthodox Church of Easton, CT for many years, and for the past few years, a member of Holy Brancoveanu Martyrs Romanian Orthodox Church, in Fairfield, CT.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Eftimia’s friends, Mariana Petre, Iuliana Roata, Daniela Pescaru, Kathy Aliman, and Simona Tudor families for the excellent care and love given to her and her home for the past few years. Also, special thanks to Dr. Doina Dragoiu and Dr. Cristina Tamasdan.
Eftimia’s funeral services will be held at The Holy Brancoveanu Martyrs Romanian Orthodox Church, 554 Tunxis Hill Road, Fairfield. A viewing will take place in the church on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. with the funeral service following at 11:00 A.M. at the church.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic people are required to wear masks and keep social distance. A Trisagion Service will be officiated by Father Mihai Faur. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Holy Brancoveanu Martyrs Romanian Orthodox Church, in Fairfield, CT or to St. Dimitrie Orthodox Church, of Easton, CT.
Arrangements are in the care of the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center.
