Our Building

The Aromanian Cultural Society Farsharotu is pleased to announce the Grand Opening of its new Museum and Library on September 5th & 6th, 2025.

For these 2 days only, while supplies last, all visitors will receive a souvenir from one of the Society’s events over the last century!

The opening will coincide with St. Dimitrie’s Fall Festival, well-known in southwest Connecticut for its outstanding food, raffles, and items for sale.

The Museum & Library will be open to visitors during the hours of the festival:

  • Friday, September 5, from 5-8 PM
  • Saturday, September 6, from Noon-8 PM

Our building houses several unique collections:

  • Utensils and artifacts brought to America by our ancestors
  • Aromanian (Vlach) costumes
  • Mementos and photographs of the Society Farsharotu and its major events over more than a century
  • A library with almost 400 volumes having to do with Aromanian history, culture, language, notable individuals, and more.

Volunteers from the Society will be on hand both days to greet visitors, answer questions, and showcase our collections. After September 6th, visits may be made by appointment only – send an email to visits@fasharotu.org and we will contact you and arrange the date and time of your visit.
We look forward to seeing you!

America is a group of groups: Probably every culture in the world is represented here. Within each group, there are some individuals who take an active interest in cultural matters and look after culture on behalf of the wider group. We are Americans first, but we understand what we bring to American culture, too.
